World Bank Announces that they have decided that from the year 2019. They will not fund any oil and gas extraction projects. This move from the World Bank demonstrates real climate leadership, and could help signal a broader shift away from the tens of billions of dollars in public finance that G20 governments and multilateral development banks dump into fossil fuels each year.

Qatar Foundation Student Associations Gather in Education City for National Day Celebration

Large crowds enjoyed a range of fun family activities at Qatar Foundation’s (QF’s) ‘Education City United’ event organized by student leaders as part of QF’s National Day celebrations.

‘Education City United’, which took place at QF’s Ceremonial Court on Thursday, 30 November, was held as a celebration of Qatar’s rich traditions, values, and culture.

The event highlighted the diverse multicultural community within Education City and aimed to demonstrate the bonds that strengthen the wider community through the country’s many achievements, as well as the morals and values that Qatar represents.

Calls for Rapid Progress at COP23 as Ministers and Heads of State Arrive

At the UN climate change conference in Bonn (COP23, to 17 November), COP23 President and Prime Minister of Fiji Frank Bainimarama called on governments to make swift progress on taking forward climate action and finalizing the rulebook of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Ministers from around the world and around 25 Heads of State and Government arrived in Bonn today for the high-level segment of the UN climate conference, which ends Friday.
